New executive director appointed to continue pathway towards the golden jubilee of the regional federation of ASEAN PAOs
JAKARTA, 13 June 2025 – The ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Janoearto Alamsyah as its new Executive Director, effective 20 June 2025.
Mr. Janoearto Alamsyah, known by colleagues as Toto, was nominated by the Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants (Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia – IAI), which has served as the Permanent Secretariat of AFA since 2011. His appointment was formally endorsed by the AFA Council Members during their meeting held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on 31 May 2025.
Mr. Toto, brings over 20 years of experience in global financial markets and business operations. Prior to this appointment, he served as Director of the Knowledge Centre at IAI, where he was responsible for leading the organization’s professional development and training programs for a broad range of stakeholders. Mr. Toto is a proud Chartered Accountant Indonesia.
“It is an honour to serve the ASEAN accountancy profession at such a pivotal moment in our regional development,” Mr. Toto said. “ASEAN’s stability and strong economic integration provide a solid platform for the advancement of the accountancy profession. I am committed to working closely with AFA’s members and partners to strengthen capacity building and enhance professional competencies throughout the region.”
Professor Dr. Doan Xuan Tien, President of AFA, expressed his support: “Mr. Toto brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role. He will continue the important work initiated by the former Executive Director, Mr. Edward Tanujaya. On behalf of the AFA Council, I welcome Mr. Toto and look forward to working with him in delivering our strategic priorities in the years ahead.”
